On July 10-12th 2009, the Russian city of Vyborg in Leningradskaya hosted the 3rd stage of the international IRÑ World Cup Car Rally. Gennady Kulaev's crew, sporting the AkTex logo on their Subaru Impreza WRX STI had entered in the Top-10, having taken 5th place in the Russian Championship and the 11th place in the World Cup event. A total of 53 crews, including factory teams such as Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Skoda and Proton all took part as well as Russian teams. The competition began in the central square of Vyborg, and winded through the gravel out-roads in very harsh and severe conditions testing the hardiest of drivers and cars. Despite the conditions of the roads, world renowned competitors and a double punctures which led to a 2 minutes time penalty, AkTex crew completed its task professionally and with distinction.
