AKTEX INC. continues to trail-blaze its way in the global SLI battery market: A distribution agreement with an Egyptian company has been signed.
In April 2008 AKTEX Inc. signed a distribution contract with a trading company from Egypt.
According to the contract, in addition to wholesale and retail distribution, the Egyptian distributor will advertise export lines of batteries under the trademark АКТЕХ throughout the Egyptian market. Egypt will be the primary target at the first stage with a possible later expansion of the target territory toward North Africa. A trial order has already been placed to be shipped in May this year.
This development adds one more country to the portfolio of АКТЕХ export customers list. Earlier the company had already informed regards a contract for battery shipment to the Yemen Arab Republic. After the first shipment of 4000 pcs of 190 Ah motive batteries was successfully completed, another order to Yemen for a wide range of lighter battery types with capacities from 50 to 120 Ah were been placed.
As mentioned earlier, AKTEX started preparations for export in 2006 and since the middle of that particular year, the company has been promoting its products to European retail chains and to distributors in the Middle East and Africa. In June of 2007 the company participated in one of the main events of the Asian and Middle East battery industry: International Lead-Acid Battery Exhibition in Beijing (China). AKTEX was the sole Russian manufacturer taking part in the event. Plans this year include participation in some significant international battery events such as the International Battery Expo in Suzhou (China) in May, Automechanika Middle East Dubai (United Arab Emirates) in June, and Automechanika in Frankfurt (Germany) in September.
