ExMET (Expanded metal) technology is the latest innovation in grid production. The grid is made by punching and expanding lead strip, resulting in grids that are lighter and more rigid compared with cast grids and have finer grain structure to minimize corrosion. Also, ExMET batteries have larger electrolyte reservoirs that provide extra protection from evaporation, longer shelf life and no maintenance requirements.
