PowerPass optimized cast grids have vertical wires, which are getting thicker and radially concentrated near the lug on the top frame, thus repositioning more lead to important current carrying areas from less important ones. It results in more current carrying capacity compared with conventional grids with strict vertical wires of uniform thickness.
