Labirynth duplex lid provides condensation surface for electrolyte aerosoles, that condenses and remains in the battery, in contrast to batteries with vent plugs. It allows lower water evaporation and longer battery lifecycle. In case of excessive evaporation at overnorm voltages due to car electric system malfunction, special flames arresters installed at air outlets provide full safety of the battery by suppressing aerosole ingnition.
